wine-bot https://youtu.be/KAcLMbsvV3E

I'm using an app to automatically send a message to pi zero of how many glasses of wine I require and the machine will rotate glasses and simply pour hopefully including a splitzer !

So thanks to my partner the official wine-bot video is now ready to view ....... sit back and enjoy...

https://youtu.be/KAcLMbsvV3E

Mark replied:

Great vid! it looks amazing! Got any plans for a new project?

jaffacakes replied:

Thanks Mark!, just built an programmable led dance floor for my sons discos unfortunately not with a pi lol. My partner wants a wildlife camera in the garden that's about it at mo . Howz your projects??

Mark replied:

Still working on my car computer, been away for a while. Need to sort out the power and get it to boot the media player when the car starts. A wildlife camera sounds like an interesting project.

Ollie replied:

Looks really good! How did you make the LED dance floor? I am just about to start work on a wifi camera as a baby monitor. Was thinking a Pi3 with Pi Cam. After some very brief research on the internet I kept seeing some software called 'motion' mentioned. So will probably take a look at that.

jaffacakes replied:

Sounds good Mark, all takes a bit of time doesn't it lol.
Made the dance floor from ws2801 leds. I'll try upload a pic in a mo. I don't think the camera and motion is that difficult really.

Still been working hard in spare time, as said before my partner likes lemonade in her red wine so added that in . You can now select small, medium, large or lemonade under each glass from mobile phone then once the pour button is pressed sit back and relax whilst the wine-bot sorts out for you. Bit of a squeeze getting a small tank and pump in but just managed it , just a small bit of tidying on case then my partner will be working her magic to film and edit a YouTube video! , thank you to everybody who is following the project I'll keep you updated when video arrives....

Jack replied:

Look forward to seeing the video! Is the lemonade pumped in rather than gravity fed like the wine?

jaffacakes replied:

Hi jack , yes lemonade is pumped in or tho at mo having a little trouble with it, so may have to take it off. Works fine without solenoid but with it I get air locks so either a different solenoid with a bigger hole or I just take it off lol

So just a quick update on wine-bot, I've now programmed it so you can select an individual size for each glass which is stored until you press the pour button ,then it will pour your desired measure for upto 6 glasses, just a few more tweeks then I'm onto my next project .......

Ollie replied:

sounds good! a very complete project! look forward to seeing what is next!

Well haven't posted for a while, had a few issues ie corrupt memory card due to pi crashing and having to pull the plug, so had to redo a couple of bits. Thank God I regularly saved an image file. So started to get some graphics , top right shows the amount of glasses to be poured. Hopefully will have a facility to have small, medium or a large glass on each individual glass, also my partner likes lemonade in her red wine, so another challenge to add lemonade pipe which can also hopefully be individual! . Also my partner is a graphic designer so she will be making the YouTube video....... watch this space.

Jack replied:

lcd display looks really good. Is that a touch screen?

jaffacakes replied:

Hiya Jack, it's just a cheap tft reverse camera monitor, was only £13 not touchscreen but it's good enough for what I want it to display :)

Well just poured the first 2 glasses of wine , very pleased so far , after pouring 2 glasses it now reverses each one to allow you to take it. Still a bit more to do....

Mark replied:

Very cool! I want one!

jaffacakes replied:

Cheers mate its going well so far, somebody has already asked for one!!

Just fitted another circuit board, small audio amp for 2 x 10 watt speakers rapidly running out of room

Jack replied:

Must be packed in there! Is it going to have a media-centre style functionality or are the speakers just for the theme music?

jaffacakes replied:

Yeah getting that way, it speaks out how many glasses etc and will have a few catch phrases. I'm thinking of adding a usb on the side for memory stick and will play tracks from that. Also there will be an input for my partners record player :) . Will do a full video soon on YouTube.

Jack replied:

Looks very cool. Look forward to seeing the video!

jaffacakes replied:

Cheers mate hopefully won't be much longer , got another dance floor to build with my son :)

Well it's Sunday morning and morning and the leather covering is pretty much complete, now to start cutting mirrors for a sexy look. .....

Ollie replied:

Very neat! How is cutting the mirrors going?

jaffacakes replied:

Not great, bought a cutter from b and q not very good but got em in lol

Ollie replied:

Looks like a good finish in the photo! The mirrors are a great addition. Is that it all complete now?

jaffacakes replied:

Just need a few trims to tidy up, gaps etc . I'm a bit ocd lol. Just added a regulator instead of batteries for motor. Once happy with outside , I'm adding a few more touches to the program ,some nice graphics on the display, showing how many glasses of wine etc. Also adding extra mp3 voice overs ie if time is before 12 midday it'll say drinking this early....

Jack replied:

That does look great! OCD is good, I never finish my projects and they forever stay at the 'prototype' build... It is nice to see stuff neatly finished! Have you thought about something in there to detect how much wine is left in the bottle? May be able to do something with light/laser for Red wine, not sure if that would work for white or rose though?

jaffacakes replied:

Hahaha yeah must admit I'm a little like that, but I thought as everything is working fine I may as well do a good job. There's loads to learn and do all at the same time ie leather covering, glass cutting, electronics and learning programming all at the same time . Not sure about detectors can't fit anymore in lol

Now have a TFT screen and soon have input for a record player. ..... not far from completion...

Jack replied:

That is looking really good already. I love the purple lighting. Looks like a really tidy job.

jaffacakes replied:

Thanks jack just started covering in leather not easy but coming along. Will continue with it tomorrow absolutely knackered now.

So circuits in rewired and all working , just needs a tidy up and little more programming, it already pours automatically 6 glasses from a press of the button....

Ollie replied:

Wow, there are a lot of components in there! have you got a diagram of how it all fits together? I also see a bit reel of LEDs! Are they to light up the area where the glasses go?

jaffacakes replied:

Hi ollie I've tidied up a bit since, leds are in , also putting mirrors in today, then covering in fuax leather lol

Sounds really good, how far have you got with it?

Showing latest replies.Show all.

jaffacakes replied:

Your right jack on wheezy it's that and it works but jessie is LXDE. so annoying probably something simple lol

jaffacakes replied:

Using webiopi through home network

jaffacakes replied:

Well seems like making progress now , sorted mp3 out and auto start up is now working lots of info needed throughout. Next is to perfect movement and controls to make sure all works before removing screen and putting zero inside case. Then after that I'll be adding lights , mirrors to casing.....

Jack replied:

Sounds like good progress, let us know how you get on! Not seen webiopi before, looks good. Is it easy to set up and use?

Ollie replied:

Haha! this is a great project! Think you will need a bigger bottle of wine though!

jaffacakes replied:

Cheers guys I'm actually excited about it ollie , there will be a t peice in pipe work to connect 2 bottles maybe 3 into one. Had problems at first jack but if you follow instructions it's easy I'll find link for you. As soon as on next stage maybe a bit more after gym tonight I'll post videos pictures etc. I have all the bits I need now :)
